FASHION LIBRARY

Library Design

2021

Tron Kirk, Edinburgh

The brief for this project was to design a library housed within the 400 year old Tron Kirk, Edinburgh. A unique design was developed for a fashion library as a place of study and relaxation as well as an archive of historically important fashion items.

The concept involved large scale walls inhabited with bookshelves and display cases, surrounding a catwalk for fashion shows. The walls form a central structure which also contains viewing galleries and staircases 'within' the bookshelves, allowing visitors to access all levels and look out onto the atrium.
